Jaspersparkle Privacy Notice

At Jaspersparkle, we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of personal data. In this Notice we explain what data is collected from you, via our website, purchases, email, social media, and show events - how it is used, and how it is kept secure. If you need more detail than is provided in this Notice or have a suggestion for improvement, please contact us.

Who we are?

The data controller is Jaspersparkle, sole trader Anne Arkle.

For enquiries please contact us via email anne@jaspersparkle.co.uk or phone 07818 633932.

What information do we collect?

The personal data we collect depends largely upon the type of interaction you have with us at Jaspersparkle. As an example, we will receive different information from you if you place an online order (such as your name, address, delivery address, email, items ordered, ring size, gift card message, and card payment details) than if you enter a prize draw (which would usually be restricted to your name, address, email, phone number and date of entry). We will always detail what type of data is collected from you at the point of entering your details.
However, in addition to what you provide directly to us, we may initially obtain personal data from a third party or supplement what we already have with additional data. All of this is to deliver better products, services and communications to our customers. As an example, we may use Royal Mail post code finder to verify details should your address be unclear or details omitted when placing an order online with us.

How do we use personal information?

We may use your personal data only as described in this Notice, to process your order, provide you with our services, to respond to your request and to the extent as otherwise permitted or required by applicable laws, or in support of any legal or criminal investigation.

If you follow us on a social media site, such as Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, we can see who follows us, and likewise if you respond to a post, such as adding a comment or “liking” the post.

What legal basis do we have for processing your personal data?

We may use your Personal Data only as described in this Notice, to provide you with our services, to respond to your requests and to the extent as otherwise permitted or required by applicable laws, or in support of any legal or criminal investigation. If you do not want to provide us with this information, please do not utilise these features on our websites or applications.

If you are a new customer, and have not previously purchased a piece of Jaspersparkle jewellery, we rely on your consent via an opt-in tick-box, in order to send your marketing emails.
However, we never want you to receive information you don’t want to receive and if this is the case, please contact us so that we can remove your from our marketing list. Please be aware that you cannot opt out of service-based emails.

Where do we store and process personal data?

We have implemented a variety of security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, use and disclosure. These follow technical and organizational measures generally accepted as appropriate security standards in the industry, including access controls, password, encryption, regular security assessments, and the like.

How do we secure personal data?

We follow many practices and techniques to make personal data as secure as possible.

Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard compliance (PCI DSS) to show that we comply with and maintain robust online safety measures.

We hold an Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificate - this type of digital certificate provides authentication of our website and enables an encrypted connection.

The SSL Certificates verifies who we are and that we are legitimate. This authentication process is much like sealing a letter in an envelope before sending it through the mail. SSL, short for Secure Sockets Layer, is commonly used on e-commerce sites and pages that require users to submit personal or credit card information.

How long do we keep your personal data for?

We will store your Personal Data as long as required to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Notice, unless a longer or shorter retention period is required or permitted by applicable law.

Different retention periods apply for different types of data and for different customer types.
