This is a handmade Georgian silver ice tong bangle which would have been used to serve ice from an ice bucket during the Georgian period. It has a lovely Brightcut design all original to the tongs.
The historic silver hallmarks for London 1795 have been retained and are visible on the inside edge of the bangle. (An amazing 225 years old) (ref SP894).
This bangle began life in London 1795 as a pair of long ice bucket tongs, this bangle has been handcrafted using the complete set of tongs, it is a fixed size.
A lovely Birthday, Christmas, Christening, Wedding, Confirmation or any celebratory present, or a “to me from me” treat!, quite unique and snazzy, with oodles of history and a major talking point!
The diameter of this bangle is 6.5cm.
Handcrafted using only hand tools on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales :-)
The bangle is presented in an oak wood case with the assay office details printed inside the case lid.
